Originally
founded in 1937 for the manufacture of engine superchargers,
M-D Pneumatics supplied superchargers for various military
and industrial applications, as well as high performance
cars well into the 1950s. In the late 1950s, M-D Pneumatics
(or MGD Pneumatics as it was known then) began an ambitious
task of developing its own line of proprietary, rotary
positive displacement blowers. This new product line involved
similar technical and manufacturing challenges but offered
a much wider market.
In 1988, M-D Pneumatics became a division of Tuthill Corporation,
and today, M-D Pneumatics™ blowers are used worldwide
for pneumatic conveying in the chemical and food processing
